IMPORTANT NOTES #
- Your policy number is the same as your insurance card number.
- OSHC is effective from the date the student is granted or extends a Subclass 500 Student Visa. If the student does not hold a student visa, the insurer will not provide coverage or accept claims under any circumstances.
- Students must have a valid visa to activate their account.
- If the student holds a dependent visa, they must be covered under the policy of the main visa holder.
- Students should keep their boarding passes (in English) when flying from Vietnam and when leaving Australia, in case they need to request an OSHC refund.
- If a student has just applied for a student visa but is currently on a Bridging Visa and did not previously hold a student visa, they are not eligible to use OSHC. In this case, consider purchasing OVHC instead.

AHM OSHC USER GUIDE #
1. Activate Your AHM OSHC Card #
- Download the AHM OSHC app or log in to AHM OSHC Member Services: View here.
- Find your membership number in your confirmation email or on your certificate of insurance.
- Access your digital membership card via the app — a physical card is usually not required unless you request one.
- Update your personal details (email, phone number, address) so AHM can contact you when processing your claims.
2. Find a Doctor or Medical Service #
- Use the Find a Provider tool on the AHM app or website to locate clinics/hospitals.
- Prefer providers with “Direct Billing / Agreement” — the clinic will send the invoice directly to AHM, so you won’t need to pay upfront.
- If you visit a non-network provider, you will need to pay first and then submit a claim for reimbursement.
3. When Visiting a Doctor #
- Present your AHM OSHC card (digital or physical).
- Ask the clinic if they bill AHM directly.
- If the service exceeds your coverage limit, you will need to pay the gap fee.
4. Claiming via AHM OSHC #
A. Online Member Services #
You can make claims for most medical services through Online Member Services.
What do you need to do?
- Log in to Online Member Services
- Provide details about the claim
- Scan and upload your receipts
- Make sure we have your correct Australian bank account.
B. Claiming via Online Claims Form #
You can now make claims for most medical services you have already paid for via our Online Claims Form.
What do you need to do?
- Open the Online Claims Form
- Enter your membership number, date of birth, first name, surname, and email address
- Upload a copy of your claim document
- Select whether or not the services you’re claiming for have been paid in full
- Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Click the Submit your Claim button
- If you have any questions or require help completing this form, call us on 134 148.
C. Claiming by mail #
- Complete the ahm OSHC claim form and send it with your receipts to:

5. Processing times #
- AHM OSHC has made it easier than ever to submit your claims online using OSHC Online Member Services or our Online Claims Form. It’s a simple way to make claims, and you will generally receive payments into your account within 5 business days.
- You can also still claim by mail — just remember to keep a copy of your paperwork and receipts in case you need them later.
6. Maintaining Your Coverage #
- Your OSHC must cover the entire duration of your student visa.
- Renew before it expires to avoid any gap in coverage (which could affect your visa).
- If you change your visa type, contact Annalink’s Partner to switch to a suitable policy.
