What is a Bridging Visa?
A bridging visa for international visitors in Australia is a temporary visa that is used when applying for a substantive visa or traveling in and out of Australia.
Are you eligible for bridging visas A, B, or C?
You may be able to get a bridging visa A (subclass 010) if:
- You have had a substantive visa
- You apply while in Australia
- You have applied for judicial review or substantive visa
- You have applied in the prescribed time-frame
- You meet the character requirements provided by the Department of Home Affairs
You may be able to get a bridging visa B (subclass 020) if:
- You have had a substantive visa or currently hold a Bridging Visa a or b
- You have applied for the substantive visa or judicial review
- You have applied in the prescribed time-frame
- You have substantial reasons for wanting to travel
- You meet the character requirements provided by the Department of Home Affairs
You may be able to get a bridging visa C (subclass 030) if:
- You do not hold a Bridging visa E or substantive visa
- You apply while in Australia
- You have applied for judicial review or substantive visa
- You have applied in the prescribed time-frame
- You meet the character requirements provided by the Department of Home Affairs.
