These fund are from the Department of Social Services to provide emergency relief to people who are on temporary visas in severe financial hardship due to Covid-19.
These funds are not replacement for your pay, income or support. The are for one-off people who cannot afford essentials like food and medicine.
You will need to provide your visa details and a bank statment or transaction list that includes:
Your full name (that matches the name on your application)
- BSB number
- Account number
- One month of transaction history (up to the date you supply for your application)
Who is eligible?
These payments are for people with no income, savings or financial support; and who cannot access Centerlink, Medicare or other Government services.
Please contact Home Affairs if you need more information about your visa conditions, extensions travel, changes to visa conditions and other matters, including changes to support work in the aged care and agricultural industries. - If you are an international student, we urge you to contact your institution to see what support they can provide.
- If you are a tourist, on a working holiday visa or someone wanting to return to your country, please contact your Embassy/Consulate to understand the support they can provide in the first instance.
